5.0 out of 5 stars There are bags with wheels made from better rubber compounds that better resist abuse

Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
This bag has been mine for 6 months and been through plenty of air and auto travel-- up and down stairs, over loud tile floors, etc. It's a hell of a bag. Reviews that are written too soon after purchase are not helpful-- I felt my review after 6 months might be helpful.

1. Black canvas material is not just adequate, but extremely durable. You can rake a house key across the face of this bag and not damage it.

2. Handles made of canvas are attached for occasional carry. I loop another bag with additional gear over this one when I travel to take advantage of the wheels-- then when I hit a flight or two of stairs I grab the canvas loop handles while the telescope drag handle is extended and extra bag is looped over the telescope extended handle-- very durable.

3. Height, width, depth dimensions fit under airline seat and in overhead compartments of the small commuter jets that the airlines fly.

4. Three compartments-- each large enough to fit a laptop. I travel with two laptops and an iPad. In addition to the three zipped compartments there is a front compartment for additional items-- pens, receipts, papers, etc.

5. Sliding telescope handle for dragging/wheeling carriage is of the same quality as nearly every other such bag. This telescope handle is not sufficiently strong to be lifted and repeatedly carried up stairs by the telescope handle-- the telescope handle will fail at some point after much use/abuse in this fashion-- so don't carry it that way.

6. Wheels are my only "not ideal" point about this bag. The wheels are made of a rubber compound that is only average. If you are running after a rental car bus and drag the wheels sideways across concrete or asphalt streets and sidewalks the wheels will sustain those flattened spots around the wheel that make loud thumping noises when you return to hard floor surfaces to roll it in conventional/normal use. There are bags with wheels made from better rubber compounds that better resist abuse. Not a deal breaker-- If you are careful to not drag the bad sideways when running fast while rolling the wheels with telescope extended, then this is not a problem.

The bag is a very good one. Buy it and enjoy excellent utility.

I am beyond impressed!! I just started nursing school and an over the shoulders backpack was just not cutting it with how heavy it was. I was nervous to order a rolling one online because you can't exactly tell what the quality is, but as soon as I opened it I took pictures and came to post about it because it is that good! Only thing I'm questioning is that the handle feels a little flimsy when stuff is added to the bag, but we'll see how it holds up. Perfect for any laptops, textbooks, binders, iPads, folders, food, extra gear (ex: a stethoscope), etc. Great quality, and it is very light! I picked up the package assuming it was going to be way heavier. Very excited to use!

After a few months of research on cases I chose this one for various reasons. I was looking for something that could hold not only heavy books, but folders, laptops and an iPad. Immediately after receiving the case I was impressed with the look of it. It is very professional looking. After loading it up with everything I would need for the day, the case stood up sturdy and did not tip over. With the placement of the wheels, it rides very smooth, even over rough surfaces like parking lots and streets. The second zippered pocket has enough room for pens and pencils, sticky notes, computer cables, business cards, cell phone, and whatever else you may need to pack. The third pocket is what made my final decision to purchase this case because it has a divider in it to store and separate files. The fourth zippered pocket is very convenient because it has a big compartment to hold books, and enough space next to that compartment to hold a laptop computer. When the handle retracts completely down, it has a flap that zips over it to hide it away in case you want to carry it by the two handles like a regular laptop bag.

I use this bag everyday for work as a Therapist and I carry various files, books, including a thick, heavy diagnosis book. There is plenty of room for everything I need with room for more. I saw bags that had better ratings, and one in particular by Samsonite was rated as one of the best. I contemplated on purchasing the Samsonite case but because of the zippered pocket with the divider for files on the Solo, I purchased the Solo instead. Two days before I received my Solo, a lady came to our office with the Samsonite case. She raved about it but I didn't even like the look of it. Also, the bag didn't have enough room to put everything in it I would need for the day. Overall, I am pleased with this case and I would definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just bought my second one. Very good value.

I got my first one of these in 2011. It lasted through 6 years of hard wear and (frankly) abuse. At about 12 bucks a year (I paid 70 for mine) it was a bargain. The telescoping handle started to get funny a couple months ago, and finally broke this week. I went online to find a new case, but the site I was on didn't show this one. I was about to buy a Samsonite or a Case Logic for over 100 bucks, when it occurred to me that I should go to Amazon. I was so happy to see that this is still available for sale!

I got my new one today. It looks like the one one, except the logos, the actual handle, and a couple of seam finishes have been changed. Same organization (which is what I loved about it). Still very roomy but not too big. Same weight. I am very happy. If it lasts me another 6 years I'll count that as an excellent value. Seeing my new one next to my old makes it clear how well the materials have held up. Aside for the broken handle the old one looks just a little more worn, but doesn't at all reflect the 6 years of hard wear and flying that it went through.

My only wish is, now that I am not longer in the corporate rate race, this one came in another color choice. Navy or dark green would have been a nice option.

I did my homework researching a well made, inexpensive laptop case with wheels as I have a bad back. I'm extremely happy with this case. I love that the laptop fits towards the rear of the case so the weight is not pulling the case forward and tipping over (this was a big concern with other cases and backpack-type cases with wheels I looked at). There is a lot of room in this case for anything extra you would need for a traveling office. There is a separate area with a divider for folders and paper. The front pocket organizes your pens, iPad or Tablet, and some smaller items. I have used this case as a carry-on for an overnight business trip; able to put a change of clothes, shoes, and vanity items in it without having to bring another bag for those items. The case is a little bit heavy to carry for long periods but that's why I got one with wheels. The only time I have to carry this is to lift it up to a table/chair or an overhead compartment on the plane, the shorter handles make that effortless. The wheels on this case seem durable. Time will tell how long this case will hold up. Overall, I am very pleased with the cost and quality of this laptop case on wheels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful case. Plenty of storage space

Wonderful case. Plenty of storage space. I use this for my 17" Alienware laptop, which I've had a beast of a time finding a case for that wasn't $150. The laptop compartment is JUST barely big enough...it's a very snug fit, but it works (I even have a mouse dongle sticking out, which can get hung up unless I'm careful). Add in the charging cable, my wireless trackball mouse, about 30 files, another smaller laptop w/cable + mouse, and my essential office supplies (calculator, pens, etc), and I have a mobile office I can take anywhere. It rolls smoothly, is well balanced, and the extending handle is plenty long if you're on the tall side.

The only issue I've seen is that if you carry a lot of weight, the fabric handles will rip. My boyfriend works in IT and carries laptops and cords around, so he got the same case given the storage space and reasonable price. The handles ripped within a week...they just aren't sewn on strongly enough to withstand the angle to carry by the handles. HOWEVER, my workaround seems to have prevented the issue (for my case)...I just twist the handles together so the tension is inward instead of upward. They've held up fine.

I am a teacher & I can fit all my work needs in this bag.
Back: 2 laptops (15" & 13"), power cord in pockets, power strip, & headphones
Middle: combinations of 2-4 notebooks, 3-6 files, &/or 1" binders
Front: pens/pencils, tablet & charging cable, cell phone, small notebooks, post-it note pads
I've walked in the rain and my things stay dry inside. It is easy to switch from rolling to carrying. Fits perfectly in the foot-well behind the drivers seat, so it will definitely fit airplane requirements if needed.

I have fallen in love with this rolling suitcase, though that's partly because this is the first suitcase of this type that I've owned, and they are awfully convenient for overnight trips and business meetings. This suitcase seems very well made, all the zippers pull evenly and without issue, the rollers are sturdy, and the pull handle is not wiggly. I am pretty easy on my suitcases, so I couldn't speak how this would hold up for a very frequent traveler or someone who was hard on it.

Features I particularly like: (1) there are two front pocket sections, which I like to use on overnight trips to separate my business stuff from the trashy books I bring on the plane. (2) the laptop section is well-cushioned, I feel no concerns putting this in the overhead with my laptop inside. (3) it fits in the overhead bin easily. (4) you can definitely fit a laptop and an overnight stay's worth of clothes/toiletries in the main section IF you pack strategically (wear your suit jacket on the plane, use travel sized toiletries, etc).

This bag is awesome! My employer decided to load us up with individual laptops, and a bunch of other stuff we have to tote to and from work, and I had a bunch of separate bags that I was trying to wrestle in and out of my vehicle every day (pocket book, work bag, laptop bag...). Finally, after getting caught on the gear shift once too often while trying to get out, I said "I really need to get a wheeled bag that holds everything". THIS IS IT. This bag holds my laptop, my thermos, my cough drops, my power cords, my paperwork, and everything else that I used to carry in all those separate bags. The telescoping handle works like a charm, the wheels are fairly quiet (even in the parking lot), and it makes my whole daily setup SO much easier! It doesn't take up much room (fits in the passenger floorboard of my vehicle) and it keeps everything organized and easily accessible. It's also not that heavy, so when I have to pick it up to put it somewhere, it's easy to do. I am really glad I got this - totally worth the price.

Love my Laptop rolling case. Due to back and leg pain I had to put everything I travel with on wheels. Have used this for several trips and it is working great. Still looks brand new and is sturdy. Protects my laptop well and I can carry paperwork and other things with me easily. I even throw my books I want to read or magazines in it. It has several compartments and zipper areas which are helpful. I can roll it out to my vehicle and get it in the vehicle easily. I also like when not in use the handle can be protected from damage in its own zippered compartment. The handle when extended is not a short height and comes out to a nice height. A significant improvement over my old laptop carrier the kind I see everywhere. This laptop carrier is extremely well made and did not smell funny when I opened up the packaging so did not need any airing out. I spent my money wisely on this purchase. I could see this being a great gift to give someone. The dimensions are great and it feels like it has soft foam padding on the sides to protect what is inside. There is a Velcro strap in the middle compartment since the middle compartment has 2 sections and I can strap my laptop in further securing it from moving around and getting damage. The wheels feel heavier than many of the cheap plastic wheels out there so I think the wheels will hold up through a great deal of use. I am so glad I found the laptop carrier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits 17" HP Envy Laptop with Plenty of Room and Rolls Nice!

Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
This great bag fits my large 17" HP Envy laptop, along with my grad books and teaching books & accessories. I teach high school and bring my grad books with me in order to get work done during my lunch break. I have read a "ton" of bag reviews on many different sites and this bag was the first one that offered many 17" laptop owners who bragged about the room. It's insane how many bags say they'll fit a 17" laptop but don't, and thankfully there are customer reviews to let the rest of us know. As an art teacher I wanted a laptop with a nice big screen, little did I know how hard it'd be to find a decent bag to transport it. I will be using this bag daily and will have to come back to review if the wheels last since the cheap one I bought before school started didn't even last 6 months. Also, the handle is decent but like some have said, it could feel stronger but I've used rolling cases/bags and I find this is more of the norm than not. The only case review I found that bragged about the handle was Thule but there's a hefty price tag for that one. I plan to use this bad daily.

Update: I used this bag throughout the school year and took 3 trips abroad with it and it's still awesome! Love this bag!

This is a sleek case with nice features. It looks small, but it swallows my Dell 17.3" Inspiron laptop just fine. There is a convenient Velcro strap to keep it from bouncing around, and the strap is easily put on or off with one hand. There is room behind the laptop for clothes, power brick, etc. Because of the width of the case, you can fill in behind the laptop with 8.5x11 sheets, binders, etc, and still have several inches to one side for other items.

The handle is comfortable to pull. It collapses into the case and can be covered by a zipped flap to be completely hidden and out of the way. Two carrying handles can be used for lifting with the pull handle in any position. A nice touch is a metal finger shaped pull mounted on the bottom of the case. this allows you to stuff it into an overhead bin and then use the metal pull to easily pull it out. This case will also go under a seat with equal ease.

There are two generous file bins in the front, then a pen and paper etc pocket in front of that (all sorts of small storage pockets), and a zippered pocket on the outside of the front. The back of the computer case space has a couple of pockets for cables, power brick., and so on. These share space with the handle shafts, so you can't put a large rectangular box in them. All in all, I find this a very good case, functional in every essential way, and on the small side - meaning light and maneuverable. Seems well made, too. I've had mine a couple of months and I use it daily. no problems.

Had a Wenger Patriot (the smallest one) for a long time (about 9 years) and it just started to die. The wheels started getting loose, the metal spring inside the molding started pulling out and the supports on the bottom have started wearing away after dragging across hundreds of parking lots through rain, ice, snow, and slush. What I found when I began looking for a new one was that most of the rolling bags I found were much larger and I wanted to have one that was the same size if not just a little bit smaller. I found this one pretty quick but I kept looking both online and in-store for months and months, fearing that the bag I chose would suck. I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Solo Bryant and it is exactly what I was looking for. It's just the right size (not too big) and doesn't have that silly "overnight" section. Fits my ancient Dell 13" laptop perfectly (it's a brick) and all of the other things for my "mobile office" (pens, paperclips, pads, notebooks, personal tablet and work iPad). Hopefully it will stand up to the torture test I put luggage through (you should see my rollaboard).

This turned out to be all I expected when I compared it to others and ordered it. Really is a beautiful piece of luggage. Yeah, I said luggage! This roller briefcase is well constructed and looks like expensive luggage. It is solid and practical. Just got a chance to switch over from my old brief/back-pack sort of thing and I'm sure this will save my back moving forward. Not sure when I will put it to use...California looks like it is headed back to lock down status. Hard to try out my new "roller briefcase" from my office at home.

I am a caseworker and I carry a rolling triage with me as well as my laptop and accessories, datebook, various notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, client files and paperwork... my whole working life. Since COVID everyone works from home and while I am at the office most days at the moment for training - I still take everything with me when I leave just in case. I also have an umbrella and a water bottle. It’s a LOT! I finally admitted that I am “old lady” enough to roll my bag instead of lugging one with the paperwork, another with the computer and another with everything else. This has been amazing! This case holds it ALL. I still carry a backpack with ID and meds and keys, etc and a lunch bag over my shoulder but this bag has been fabulous. Now when I go through screening when I come in, the hardest thing I have to do is hurl this bag into the X-ray belt, whip off my lunch bag and my backpack and off we go. It’s made my life so much better. I highly recommend.

My Dell 17.3 inch laptop fits perfectly in the padded compartment. The case got plenty of room for accesories such as powercords, mouse, etc. It is currently holding two thick textbooks, and a thick file full of papers and small reference book. Theres still plenty of room and there are plenty of small compartments for your paperclips, pens, pencils and highlighters. Zippers seem of great quality, the wheels look and roll great. The handle goes up and down smoothly, it does flex a little cause of the weight i but in the bag but im not worried about it as it seems well built. Overall very happy with purchase and been able to fit my laptop which was a challenge. Now to let time do its test. Will report back in 6 months.

I went through 3 bags before I found one that actually held my 17.3" laptop and all my work stuff. This is it. I read through the reviews and have seen where people have had issues with the wheels and the fabric on the inside of the big compartment but I roll this thing on concrete and wheels still look great and I learned the trick to closing the compartment with my big laptop without catching the fabric so we are good with that. It fits all I need and was happy to finally find a bag that works for me. I have not traveled by airline with it to know how well it will fit and I probably won't because I feel it is too big to go under the seat anyway. I mainly needed for everyday use to and from the office. It is good quality for the money and I am enjoying it. The only thing I wish it had was 4 spinner wheels but I will survive with just the 2 wheels so long as they hold up okay!

I have an office in 2 locations that I go back and forth between at least 5 days a week, and upstairs to get to one of them. This bag hold my HP Envy easily, (which is 16.5" wide from left to right), as well as all accessories, my ipad and accessories, all my large notebooks, files, large calculator, small notebooks, etc. I could get more in it if I wanted to. Because of the handles and shape of the bag, it's easier to lift all these things in this bag than it was before in several bags, and doesn't hurt my arm and shoulder as much. I only carry it out the door, and then up that stairs at one location. I roll it everywhere else. It's sturdy, doesn't tip over ever, rolls well. I really have no complaints. I did my research, and for me, this fulfilled my needs and was well reviewed. I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it to someone who has quite a bit of work or study-related stuff to cart around.

I really like this bag. It’s a good Gaulish and sturdy bag. It has multiple compartments including:
1. small but deep front pocket great for extra wires/cords
2. compartment for accessories, pens, business cards, sticky notes and small notebooks
3. File storage area with a built in separated
4. Large compartment that includes padded laptop keeper to secure your laptop, 4 large pockets (2 at front and 2 at back), and large space for other office materials and/or other needs such as clothes for overnight.

Also has an easy up and down handle to pull, that can easily be tucked away into zippered pouch for concealment. Also features to straps to lift and carry as needed.

When packed, depending how full and how heavy, it can be awkward to carry with the straps. However, the wheels and handle are sturdy so pulling is not an issue.

I bought this bag as I manage 4 offices and am constantly traveling between locations. Due to this traveling, I needed a sturdy bag that I could use to basically take my office with me. It holds all my desk supplies, laptop supplies, my laptop (16”), several files and notebooks, and even some snacks. Since I need to travel with so much stuff a standard bag was not feasible to carry. Before this bag I was carrying 2 large bags, plus my lunch box.

To start off - I had always used a backpack until my age made me decide otherwise. Based on travel needs and the footprint I wanted rolling behind me, I settled on this bag. To be perfectly clear - I have not treated this bag gently AT ALL. I have dragged it over dirt, cobble, and curbs. I have not bothered to lift it over concrete, shrubs, or any other obstacle. It DOES show this wear with tears and corporate battle scars. It has never once failed to do its job - roll my work station everywhere I take it. The telescoping handle has held up and the space has been extremely accommodating. I believe I broke a bearing in one of the wheels due to extreme refusal on my part to coddle the item. I use it for work and expect it to work with me. It has done the job I purchased it for and I now retire it and rest assured - I'm replacing it with the same bag.

I’ve had this rolling case for approximately 3 weeks now. I am happy with my purchase. The features I enjoy are the multiple zipper pockets and the amount of room available in each pocket. I am able to store many things and organize them efficiently. The features that could be improved are that the wheels are very loud and the back pocket is hard because of the handle bars and there is minimal padding between the hard bars and the slot for your laptop. I always put something between my laptop and the bars. If the wheels were quieter and my laptop didn’t feel compromised in the back pocket, I would have given this product 5 stars. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who has a larger laptop or needs to carry many things in an organized fashion while traveling or commuting. I also like the look and feel of the bag. Very simple and professional. However, Some people have seen me with this case and have asked me “Are you flying somewhere?” because of its large size. This does not bother me though because I bought this with the intention of getting a bag to fit my large laptop (dell inspiron 15 7000 series; ~15+ in. )

Overall, I would recommend and I am happy with my purchase. I am able to commute easily with this bag.

Main complaint: loud wheels

I got this for a relative that is heading off to college soon and instead of lugging a backpack around, I thought this would be a nice option. Overall the quality is decent, although there is some room for improvement, considering the price, which I think is a bit pricy. The handle is easy to use, but feels flimsy and I am not sure how this will hold up over long term use. The zippers also could be a bit sturdier as well. The wheels are ok, but again could be made a bit sturdier as well. So, these things, make me wonder how well long term this will hold up. The good thing is that this has a 5-year warranty, so that helps ease my mind a bit.

This bag has plenty of space and compartments for both a college student or a business person for travel. Plenty of space for a good-sized laptop as well as adequate padding. The wheels roll smoothly and the handle is comfortable to use.
Pros
Lots of compartments
Lots of space
Space for large laptop
Good protection and padding
Easy to roll
Easy to use telescoping handle
Good for travel
5-year warranty

Cons:
A bit pricy
Handle feels a bit flimsy
Zippers could be a bit studier
Wheels could be better quality
Long term durability question

Overall, this is a decent quality bag that hopefully will provide my aspiring college student 4 years of use.

Great way to get organized. I bought this as a Christmas present for myself. I’ve used it every work day since and I’m quite pleased. So far, I’ve pulled it across parking lots, off the curb, up steps, over carpet and tile and in the rain. The bag is roomy and lightweight. My laptops and power supplies are easy to tote around and there’s still room for a few notebooks and such. The wheels seem sturdy and roll quietly and easily. The carry handles make it easy to lift when dashing across busy intersections. The bag fits perfectly on the floor in the backseat of my car. I would give it five stars if the telescoping pull-handle didn’t feel so flimsy. At first, the pull-handle stuck a little when I tried to lower it, but it seems to be working fine now. I’m a little worried that it will give me trouble before the bag wears out, but I’m still happy with my purchase. I’d buy it again.

I used the bag the same day I got it. It was just a pain to carry several heavy bags to work and I was looking for a wheeled bag, not a luggage bag, to carry my laptop and files. This bag was light, easy to move, space enough for what I needed to carry. The only concern I have is the telescoping handle. Sure enough, it is easy to operate and stays up once it is locked and it is easy to fold down when you don't need it. It just doesn't feel solid enough to turn (while upright) when the bag is carrying a lot of weight. Easy solution though. I just have to make sure I hold the bag down at an angle already before attempting to turn it.

4.0 out of 5 stars SO CLOSE TO BEING A 5-STAR REVIEW!!!!!

As a PhD student, I carry around an enormous amount of books, articles, notebooks, and lots of other supplies. After giving up on being able to carry this heavy load in a backpack, I decided to try this rolling case.

It's a really nice case. Since I've only used it 2 days, I can't comment on its long-term durability. But, within these two days, I've made some determinations about how well it works for me.

PROS:
Lightweight (when empty). This means that the bag itself doesn't add a lot of extra weight when picking it up to get it in and out of the car.

Smooth acting telescoping handle: So far, it works smoothly. I had another bag recently with a handle that kept slipping down. It wouldn't lock into place. I've had no problems so far with this bag. This handle is enclosed in its own zippered compartment.

Padded computer sleeve: This bag is divided into 4 pockets. The back pocket, next to the handle is divided into 2 slots, one of which is a padded computer sleeve. By putting the designated computer sleeve near the back of the bag, the computer takes much less banging around since there are 3 other pockets in front of it to absorb the contact. It also has a Velcro strap to secure the laptop into place. My laptop is 15.3" and it easily fits into the sleeve.

Fairly good organization within the pockets: One of the front pockets has a few individual organizational pockets useful for holding calculator, pencils, etc. However, none of these pockets are zippered which allows items to slide out and drop to the bottom of the bag.

Good wheels: I read several reviews complaining about the wheel quality. It is true that the wheels are small, and I may find that they fail over time. However, so far, so good.

Sturdy handles: The handles are both strong and well-balanced - situated on the bag so that the bag is balanced when you pick it up.

Storage capacity is both a Pro and a Con: This bag makes the best use of the available space, but it's on the smallish size for my needs. I read the specs before purchasing it, but had no way to gauge how many things would fit into it at one time. Right now, I have my 15.3" laptop, power cord, mouse, 1 book, 2 notebooks, several binders, and loose papers in the back 2 pockets. In the front pockets I have office supplies, It's completely full and I'm not sure what I'll do when I need to carry more hard-cover books.

CONS:

Storage capacity: See above

Tips: The front 2 pockets are shorter than the back 2 which should make this bag more stable. However, it has tipped on me twice.

If this bag were a little larger, I would have given it 5 stars. I wish vendors would show a view of the bag full of items in their postings so you could better determine what will fit. Next time, I'll buy a bigger bag.

I’m a home health nurse and I wanted something that I could carry all of my supplies and papers in without having to haul over my shoulder. Storage and capacity-wise it is everything that I needed, but it is a bit hard to get through doors due to the wheels not being the rotating kind. It is light enough that it can be carried by the handles when walking up stairs. The material on the bag itself seems sturdy, but I’m worried about the handles. They are made out of a pleather. I worry that over time they might start flaking or detach from the bag from daily use. Overall satisfied with my purchase.

Nice & roomy yet small enough to use as a briefcase in a pinch.
I like the material finish instead of the faux leather of my previous Kenneth Cole similar bag.
The New York Bryant (which I'm reviewing now) is probably produced by the same company that produces the Kenneth Cole bag.
Both share a big downside in my view. Wheels are virtually impossible to replace. I had to destroy my Kenneth Cole bag to find that the wheel axle is riveted in and could not be unscrewed.
So when one of the wheels cracks or fails. Say goodbye to the entire bag. Wasteful when a new set of wheels can be had for $15-20.

I took this new bag to a week long conference and was extremely pleased with it. Very durable and lightweight with easily accessible pockets. I found the telescoping handle fairly robust and very smooth and easy to use. Only design shortcomings I found were I wish it had a key clip or perhaps a small zippered pouch inside the front zipper section, and maybe a better way to fasten the whole thing to the handle of a larger roller bag. It just fit under the seat in coach airline seating (laying on its back), but didn't fit under it in first class because of an odd electrical box blocking the space.

I'm giving it only four stars because I'm not happy the price dropped $23 right after I bought it. It's a very worthy bag at $70, and an even more worthy one at the new $45 price.

I bought this nearly a year ago and it's still going strong. It's got plenty of pockets and places to put things. I carry TWO (2) laptops and supporting equipment (cables, mice, etc.) and supplies to and from work every day which includes a car, a bus, a train and a shuttle bus each way.

My only complaints are these: The wheels are rather loud and 2/3 of the pockets don't go all the way to the bottom creating one big pocket with dividers. These are minor complaints though. It's durable and there's no tearing at all and I'm not particularly gentle with it.,

There’s a lot of divisions and compartments but not good if you have little bulky items to put inside like medium size pouches. I recommend this only for people who will put flat folders or laptop. Bag Handle is very fragile and sometimes difficult to maneuver. So you need to be careful with the handle because it feels wiggly when you roll your bag and closing the handle. Good bag but I had better ones before but of course more expensive. Price is good for the quality.

I really do like this bag. Seems to have all the bells and whistles for my plane travel. I wish it had a water bottle holder on one end. So far, it rolls nicely, and stands upright without falling over. Plenty of room for a weekend journey (maybe) - but geared more towards a carry-on for those essentials you must have. I have stuffed it with a 15" laptop, headphones case (big over-the-ear phones, not earbuds), a compact camera, a book or two, magazines, plane tickets, snacks, etc. I love the extra slot for securing it to your larger suitcase by sliding it over the handle of that suitcase. The retractable handle of this unit does not feel quite as secure as the best I've used, but it will suffice.

Overall this is a good buy for the money. Handle is about 1 inch too short as I keep running into it with the back of my foot while walking. also, the material between the wheels shreds as you go over sidewalks/driveways. Should have a plastic reinforcement across the bottom, or duct tape works well! Compartments are roomy and hold a lot. I travel with a 17" personal laptop and 14" business laptop and they fit comfortably. I am looking at buying another one now and can't find anything of value for the price except this one! In the Chicago climate, the wheels tend to get worn out due to the salt during the winter but this has happened on the last three cases I have purchased. Good luck!

The size is perfect for even a slightly larger 17" laptop, but this gets only 4 stars because I'm not sure how it will hold up to heavy use. I recently had a problem with one wheel sticking, and although it fixed itself quickly, I'm concerned it may happen again. It's been through a number of trips already and fits perfectly in all sizes of overhead storage as well as under the seat in front of you. I find it's not big enough in the main compartment that I could use it as an overnight bag, but it's perfect for a carryon. It rolls down the aisle of the plane on some planes, but on others it catches the edge of the seats so is easier to just carry. The handle can be a bit finicky to store at times but overall both extending it and storing it work as expected. Overall I'm happy with this and hope it lasts.

Here are my findings after extensively using (abusing) it for almost 2 years:

This is definitely worth the price.
It is very durable
The two issues I encountered after two years of use are:
1. Fake leather around the handles cracked at multiple places
2. The roller wheels now make hellacious noise as I roll the bag

I have taken this bag to almost 12-15 countries hopping from home to airport to hotel to office and back. It has never disappointed me. I have stuffed it with so much crap and never had any issue with the zippers. This thing delivers.
However; now, its time to replace it due to the issue with the roller wheels and the cracked fake leather. Its time to part with my travel companion. :(

The only design changes I would ask the manufacturer to make are interchangeable roller wheels and better quality fake leather around the handles

I have a large laptop, server quality. The laptop pocket fits my pc, with a bit of wiggle room depth wise. I am at the limit on width. A slim notebook would fit with a protective sleeve case and then some.

One of the wheels came warped, so it makes some noise rolling. I'm usually outside walking between buildings on a large industrial campus. Holds up well on asphalt.

Airplane travel: too large to qualify as personal item, does not fit under seat, too small for me to use as a carryon without checking a bag.

In less than 60 days the handle no longer retracts all the way down - it stoped at the level pictured in the Amazon image. The Amazon warranty was 30 days. I contacted SOLO with details and in less than 4 business days I had a replacement bag. WOW!

It would be nice if there were a strap on the back of the bag to hook to your luggage - it fits perfectly under the seat on an airplane. There are two handles on the top and they do not velcro or stay together - I seem to be chasing one or the other to pick up the bag. Neither are deal breakers, but could be improved. While the wheels roll very smoothly, they are already showing a little wear on the tread - something it took my last bag 6 years to show.

On the plus side, the fabric seems solid on the front and around the zippers, it is fairly light weight, rolls very easily, suitable for a laptop, notebook, computer supplies, and has extra storage pockets in almost every compartment.

I bought this bag in February, 2013 to help me transport my mobile office. In general, this has been a solid bag. I finally put it to rest today (November 1st, 2017) as the telescoping handle broke and will not extend all the way. My only complaint other than the handle is that the zippers in the front are a little weak. I was very tough on the bag, however.

I used the bag to carry two extension cords, a portable printer, portable scanner, pack of printer paper, sales literature, and various USB/HDMI cords, pens, etc. It also served as the bottom support for two other laptop bags I carry around with me.

I'm going to look for a slightly larger bag than this one so I can only carry one other bag. Overall, this bag was a great value. I highly recommend it. 5 stars if it had lasted five years.

This bag saves my having to look for a box when it's time to transfer offices again. It has lots of storage compartments and it looks professional. The only thing that irritates me is the handle; it's not always easy to retract or extend. I sometimes have to struggle with it. Other than that I love this bag.

After careful consideration, I decided on this rolling office. I read the reviews and all of it's features suited my needs. The price was reasonable compared to others.

As other buyers have noted, the wheels are not spinners. So maneuvering was very challenging and awkward at times, i.e. rolling through the aisle of a plane, getting through crowds, going down stairs, etc.

The handle wobbles, and got stuck in the extended position a few times in the beginning.

However, the organizational features were exactly what I needed. So even knowing about the downside in advance, i bought it anyway. It has plenty of space for office supplies, files, a laptop, a water bottle, with room to spare.
The fabric is durable and overall the unit looks very professional.

Minus 1 star for not having spinner wheels, and a handle that's wobbly and jams sometimes. Minus 1 star for not addressing these issues even after so many reviewers have pointed it out.

If the manufacturer decides to make those improvements, I'd be glad to buy a new and improved one.

A little disappointed that a 17" laptop fits so tightly in this case. It fits, but it's a stretch on getting it zipped with it in there. Wish it were just a little roomier. Don't expect the zipper on the large compartment to last long since it is such a struggle to get it zipped with the 17" laptop inside. The excess material just inside the zipper tends to get stuck in the zipper frequently too. The wheels and handle seem sturdy. Not crazy about the zip-away handle pouch on top or the floppy handles that are too far apart. It's would be a decent case for a smaller laptop perhaps, but just not that impressed with it for a 17" laptop like it is advertised for.

This bag is great: loads of storage, convenient, fits everything I need in there, etc. But I'm now on my third (and last) one over a five-year period, so I'll say this: be very, very gentle with the zippers, as they will break easily. Also, the wheels have a short lifespan. My advice is to only use the rolling feature on a really smooth floor/surface; if you're on any sort of a rough surface (like a street, even most sidewalks), the wheels will wear out quickly.

I bought this based on others' reviews. The pockets and insides are good. I use this to take my things back and forth to work. I can fit my lunch bag, tablet PC, purse, computer accessories, working accessories, and have some room to spare. What makes me a little worried is that the handle is flimsy. It only has one extension position and that is made to fit lots of people's sizes. I am 5'6" and find it to be too long. Doors often close on me before I get the bag through. I knock it into the corners, etc. I would have preferred if it was 6" shorter so the bag did not trail so far behind. Also, it feels flimsy, as in, I am afraid that if I twist the handle too much, it will break. I've had it 2 months now and it's ok. Also, the wheels make a lot of noise on brick walkways. Perhaps some softer material wold have been nice. You can hear me moving this thing around the inside of our building as well until I hit the carpeted side.

I'm a little bummed that the zippers are often finicky, and I'm not over stuffing the bag. Also, I'm very careful to not use the wheels unless I'm on smooth pavement or floor. Based on other reviews and my own observation, they probably won't last long with heavy use. I really avoid setting it down on wet ground too often, as it is often accompanying me into my customer's living room, so the premature wear and tear on the wheels is the cheap part of this bag.

I will probably buy another once this one bites the dust, regardless. It looks very professional, and the pockets are very functional for my purposes.

Spacious inside for folio, laptop, accessories and one night's clothing if needed (I even fit a pair of dress shoes in for one trip!). Cons: not durable. After 2 months one of the wheels is half gone. I use it outside on workdays. The distance between parking and my workplace is about 200 feet and apparently it killed the bag.
The wheel was getting stuck every time, so the bag end up being dragged, not rolled. Besides, the fabric on the lower edges is getting ripped, the logo broke in half.

Now that the case has been used, if other zippers or components fail, I figure I won't be able to get any money back on this purchase. I enjoyed this bag while it lasted, but I only got about 18 months out of it before the telescoping handle stopped telescoping and then snapped off altogether. Also, as another commenter noted, one of the wheels got stuck, which made me feel like I was dragging a body through the airport.

I should note that I'm a frequent business traveler who put this thing through its paces. Were I not rolling it all over the country for nine months out of the year, it probably would have held up much better.

That said, I sort of hoped to get at least two years out of it, and I didn't.

On the plus side, it has plenty of compartments, it's not too heavy, and it easily fit a laptop, ipad, and assorted notebooks. It also fits in the overhead of even the smallest planes, so that's a plus.

I guess I'd just caution against its durability with extreme use.

A couple of the zipper teeth were bent, so it was a tough job to get it working again, and I don't have a lot of confidence that it will hold up for the long-term. It was packed pretty tight, but I would have expected better durability than this.

I purchased this bag and its OK. The zipper failed in about 4 months and one of the wheels locked in about one year. The material is good but the zippers are cheap. I won't be purchasing another one of this brand. My last laptop bag lasted about 4 years. I use it everyday so if I got 2 years out of it I would be happy but the quality on this bag is kind of cheap.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent bag, just doesn't last long
Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2013
Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
I bought 1 year and 3 months ago. This week, the handle for the cart finally broke. Since the bag only has the cart handle and the the other handhold to carry, no shoulder strap, I used it as a roller most of the time. When I bought it, I hoped it would hold a little more than it did. But it does fit my 17.3" laptop, a couple textbooks, and notebook, but not much else. The wheels after awhile seem to get loud and squeaky. Before the handle broke, the poles began to bend, causing the bottom to rub a little if you didn't hold it down as far as you can while walking. Also, I had problems with the handle going back in all the way if the bag was really full. It's not a horrible bag and it looks like it's gone down from the $90 I paid for it, but if you plan on stuffing it full all the time like I did, be prepared for it to only last about a year. Also, when it is stuffed full, it's a little awkward to carry it with the handhold.

Less than one year and the leather on the handles already cracked and separated. To me, that's ridiculously fast to wear out. Really ruins the piece.

If it weren't for that, it would be excellent--good use of space, thoughtful design, spacious.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too small for 17 in laptop. Nice case but for smaller laptops.
Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2018
Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
This is too small for my 17 inch laptop. The laptop will fit in however the laptop is right up against the sides and zipper. So tight that it’s hard to even close the zipper - therefore not offering any cushion or protection. (I even have to take the tiny wireless mouse piece out of the USB port on side to make it fit).

My case recently fell off my regular suitcase, and because the lap top fits tight up against the zipper/sides of case, my lap top got damaged and isn’t working properly. (Wasn’t a hard drop). I bought this case because of the wheels to help with all my traveling and airports. My last case had plenty of room and the laptop didn’t fit tight up against the sides/zipper. (Was too heavy for all the walking in large airports). If my laptop would’ve been in my old case, I do not believe it would’ve gotten damage.

The case is a nice case, and great for traveling and the wheels make it great for walking in airports, however I would NOT, NOT recommend for a 17 inch laptop. Case only has 2 wheels, therefore you must pull the case. I think 4 wheels would be best. There is a lot of room for papers and such in the case. I actually prefer leather, but could not find a nice leather laptop case with wheels.

2.0 out of 5 stars First trip and one of the wheels went flat!
Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2019
Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
If I could return this one I would!!
I looked a long time for a rolling bag that would make it easy to travel and not be too bulky or heavy. I found this bag, that is really too big for me, but decided based upon the great reviews, I decided to take a chance on it. I do like the amount of space in the bag thus the two stars rather than one.
On my VERY FIRST TRIP using this bag, while rolling the bag over asphalt, I noticed it was dragging. Looked closely and saw that one of the wheels had worn flat on one side. This is why I replace my previous bag but it didn't have this problem until 10 years of use!!
Now it still does work, but makes an annoying sound every time it tries to roll over the flat wheel side. I expect the other wheel to have the same problem. And the wheels cannot be replaced!!
Don't trust the reviews, this is not a great bag!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Thin Material, Few Internal Pockets/Partitions, Poor Designs For Durability, Lacking Features
Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2018
Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
This seems like a case of you don't even get what you pay. The material is thin and distinctly cheaper looking. The zipper handles are flimsier, when even a thicker one breaks. The internal lining material is thin, pockets and partitions are sparse and don't make full use of interior real estate. In a good case the bottom would have plastic shield across the two wheels to prevent damage if the case should hit things as it's dragged behind, this case is bare with just the fabric of the case. No strap across the back that would allow the bag to loop onto or be tied with other luggage. The diameters of the extending handle sections are much smaller than a Samsonite and operates in such a way that careful attention has to be paid to collapse. The wheels barely raise the case and any uneven of the ground will simply result in a lot of scraping to the bottom as it rolls. Etc. A complete and utter disappointment that puts all the rave reviews down as inexperienced. At $30-40 it would be o.k. as a cheap quickie but at $60 one can start to do better.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wheel didn't work properly - 16.25" across laptop did not fit
Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2019
Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
OK, admittedly, I purchased this for a week of whirlwind travel, eight planes over 4 days. But this was a carry on, never out of my hands. It did involve some fast movement from one end of an airport to another, and what may have done it in, a small amount of mixed water, ice, and snow about half way through the trip. One of the wheels "stuck" and would not turn. I was too rushed at the moment to realize the problem and continued to pull the thing along, wondering why it was suddenly such a burden. Finally, when I reached the boarding area, I discovered the immovable wheel and was not able to dislodge it with my hands but managed it by forcefully pushing down and trying to roll it. This wheel now has a flat edge, given the time spent pulling it along, and the wheel continues to stick.
I have a 17" laptop, which is actually 16.25 inches wide, I measured. Although I could force it into the computer slot, it took several minutes of struggle to get it back out, not good for airport security. Ultimately, my computer ended up in the larger area with clothes around it to try to protect it.
I would venture to guess, I am done with this bag, used for a total of 4 days; it has a bad wheel and does not fit a 17" laptop.

I was really disappointed in this bag. Under different circumstances I might not have been. I specifically got it because I had a surgery that limited what I could lift for 6 weeks. It was advertised at 1 pound. I was skeptical but that is what it said. It is closer to 5 pounds. That is 500% off the advertised amount and about half of what I am supposed to lift. Also the wheels do not turn so easily. It I did not have this limitation and just wanted a fixed size bag as opposed to a messenger, which I have, I would probably be fine with it. I was just looking for something specific and it was advertised as such and was not so.

I have a Helios Predator 17.3" that did not quite fit in my current Swiss Gear Granada, so I needed to move up. When I received the Bryant Solo, I found that it is no bigger than a standard Swiss Gear roller. The pictures tell the story.

The construction was okay. It seemed sturdy, although umit as robust as the Swiss Gear. Wish it was a big as advertised.

It is cheaply made and I had trouble getting it to zip. I would have overlooked that and kept it for such a cheap price but when I extended the handle it was so short I had to bend over to hold on to it. This was the tipping point. No one wants to bend over to hold on to the handle to pull it. I returned it and ordered one that was much more expensive but has arrived and it so much better in quality and handle is long. You get what you pay for.

I have had the same experience as some of the other lower rating reviewers:
1) One of the sippers gets jammed in both directions. The inside pocket lining of the large compartment appears to be sewn incorrectly causing it to stick outward instead of inward.
2) The sipper came off the track during the first use. I was able to get it back on but it needs special care when zipping.
3) The wheels are small and get jammed up by stones in the parking lot. You have to stop and remove them. This has happened in every parking lot I've used.
4) The wheels are noisy. A gentleman in the airport jokingly remarked "hey, it sounds like you have a flat tire, at least you'll know which bag is yours". I replied "I know, and the bag is brand new". I would send it back but it's too much hassle. I probably will not purchase another bag without seeing it first or I'll be a little more particular about the brand quality.

On a positive note, the bag was as large as possible while still being able to fit in the overhead of small planes.

We purchased this bag due to the company claiming to stand behind their product with a 5 year warranty. We followed the instructions and registered it at the "SOLO NY" website at the time of purchase. Now after it has broken, we contacted Amazon and they said they can't help us and we have to go through the "SOLO NY" company to get warranty service. We have called "SOLO NY" NUMEROUS TIMES; have been put on HOLD and then hung up on; the phone keeps ringing and then says they are too busy to answer the call and will call us back. Leave our information to call us back and NO CALL BACK. We have sent a message on their website and no reply. At this point, DON'T buy ANYTHING from this company and know when AMAZON advertises the warranty, AMAZON will not stand behind the BUYER! EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH AMAZON AND SOLO NY!

At first, seemed to be a good bag. Came as described. Worked well. And then the pain set in.

The zippers began to get caught on the nylon material that fans out when the bag is expanded. Wrestling to free the zipper caused me to be late on more than on occasion. Once, desperate to release the little bugger, I got the scissors and hacked away a big piece of the internal nylon. Was like a poor bobcat having to gnaw off his foot to get free from a trap.

Today, a zipper came totally off the track. I cheered, "Free at last, free at last- dear Lord I can trash this bag forever!" Going to get a good Jansen large backpack with wheels. Lifetime guarantee from a company that does things right.

My laptop is W14" x L11.5" x D3" abouts. Fits snugly in my Targus 17" backpack. I have not used the briefcase other than testing my laptop fitting, So can't say anything about the quality of the product thus a middle of the road 3* rating. There was a lot of loose stitching strands around the inside of the bag. and a flat spot on both wheels that caused them to click/lump on my hardwood floor. I purchased this case to transport my new 17.3" screen gaming laptop and it is definitely not big enough to conveniently store the laptop in the designated compartment. If they had been a little more generous on the compartment storage room by another .5" to 1" it would be better. I definitely can not get the laptop into the bag if I don't remove the mouse USB which sticks out maybe 1/4". I wouldn't have purchased this bag if I knew that space was going to be that tight. It takes me a couple minutes of working my laptop for it to fit into the bag and that's pretty awful and embarrassing. Very disappointed as it was advertised to fit screen sizes up to this width and if the bag had just been made a little wider, it would've worked perfectly. Wheels on the bag also get stuck and lag/pull when in use as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unusable for 17” laptops
Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2019
Size: 14" x 16.8" x 5"Color: BlackVerified Purchase
I normally don’t write reviews, or if I have a problem I reach out to the seller first. Just thought folks should know that there is a major problem with the interior lining of the laptop storage area of this bag. The zipper gets stuck on the interior lining and you can’t get your laptop out once you’ve zipped it up.

I have a 17” wide laptop, after putting the laptop in the bag, the zipper got stuck on both sides when unzipping it, stuck so bad that I couldn’t get the laptop out. The zipper never fully unzipped, I had to pry the laptop out of the bag while the bag was mostly closed, I was afraid the screen was going to break.

I purchased this bag for a business trip. I got the bag on Friday for flight departure Monday. I had no other options but to literally cut the interior lining portion of the bag off where it was getting stuck. Normally I would have just returned the bag, but I have no other bags to fly with and put my laptop in.

After about 2 hours of manual cutting the interior liner, finally, the zipper stopped getting caught and it works now. This is a major design flaw when putting larger laptops in this bag. This should be advertised for smaller laptops if they choose to keep the interior lining like that. It’s not just a production error either, there’s literally too much fabric on the sides of the laptop storage portion for 1) a large laptop and 2) unzipping. See photos.

Photo 1: area where zipper gets stuck on both sides
Photo 2: Extra liner removed
Photo 3: the amount of fabric removed to make this bag work

I have a HP ENVY model 17-u273cl has 17.3-inch diagonal HD laptop, I couldn’t put in padded section and I tried to squeeze in outside padded compartment and I couldn’t zip it up. Seller trying to make a sell and gave false information which is totally wrong to waste my time to re pack it and return.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overrated and Poorly Made

The handle was a wobbly mess and the interior lining was pretty flimsy as well. Of course I didn’t expect grade A craftsmanship, but a nice sturdy handle isn’t too much to ask. At this level, you are better off going th Amazon Basics route and saving some $$$$

This Item will NOT FIT a Acer Predator 17.3" laptop as described. I am very disappointing in this item not fitting like it says in the description. I would like too see anyone who has gotten a Acer predator 17.3" laptop in this case without modifying it first.

1.0 out of 5 stars Despite the title of this product, it does not fit a 17" laptop.

As someone else said in their review, this case does not fit a 17" laptop. It will fit in the non-padded area, however, you can feel the hard handle behind the laptop. This does not seem like a safe or secure way to transport a 3k dollar laptop. For reference, I have a Dell Precision 7720.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wheels are a major design flaw, does not hold up to regular use.

I bought this for my son to use at school, it appeared attractive and had good organization. The wheels however are made of some horribly cheap flimsy and weak material, it only lasted a few months at most, the wheels look melted and crushed in the back, and it's useless. I'm extremley disappointed, we had to trash it.
