Not to get carried away, but ever since we bought this briefcase I have been marveling about the mere fact of its availability and how spoiled we are in the modern international economy. It is, far and away, the best briefcase I have ever owned. It is sturdy, well-made, roomy, attractive, and of good materials. I've been carrying briefcases for decades, I'm quite particular about what I like, and in the past the best ones I've owned have cost a few hundred dollars. This is better than any of them, by every measure, and yet I got it for $60.

This in turn has led me to reflect on how miraculous it is that I could order, acquire and own such thing without leaving my house -- amazon itself is a pretty amazing development compared to the purchasing methods of my youth -- and then there is the fact of instant access to the lowest-possible price for the highest-quality material. Not everything is perfect in our modern economic world, but sometimes we forget what a consumer's paradise we live in.

Seriously, I do wonder sometimes if modern discontent and anger is more of a product of luxury than it is of deprivation. It's crazy that such a fine briefcase is available for $60 -- just as it's crazy that so many of the things we can buy now are so inexpensive. Every time I use it (and that's every day), I think of this. I've had it for a full year now and it barely shows any wear, it's holding up better than any previous briefcase. Thanks for indulging my philosophizing on the matter.

The brief case arrived promptly and in tact, which is always a nice thing. The material inside and out is very nice and should hold up for quite some time, I will update in a few months to let you know how it goes. The colour scheme is very nice and super classy looking. The latches seem to be good quality, as are the hinges. The internal pockets are quite nice as well. There are a few slots for business cards, 3 expanding folders to hold what ever sorts of documents or notebooks you have, in addition there are two pockets that look great for a tiny notepad or a calculator. The main portion can easily hold a laptop or an expanding folder and a binder or two. The little red lines you see on the combination is just a piece of plastic to hold it on 000 if you do not want to use a combination. All in all it is a really good price for a good quality brief case.
